I'm a systems analyst and developer with many years of programming experience. I enjoy tutoring students in computer science topics and math. Often times in tutoring students in programming, people are looking for someone to show them how to get the results they want more quickly. In many cases, my students just need to learn to deal with failure as a programmer. When the program will not compile or you get an error or unexpected result, students need to look at this as a productive part of the process. Students also need to be organized when programming so they can try different approaches to solve problems without losing any other progress. Then it comes down to practice. As a tutor, instead of lecturing, I will guide, listen, and react to help the student make progress effectively.
